Echo Will Oversee Transimpact’s Managed Logistics Solutions Business.

TransImpact, a transportation and IT consultant, announced Tuesday, 27 September, that it will join with Echo Global Logistics to outsource its managed logistics solutions business.

TransImpact expects the transaction to be completed by the end of the year.

TransImpact’s outsourcing agreement will allow it to focus on its parcel consulting and negotiation business and its business analytics and demand planning services.

TransImpact was founded in 2008 and is situated in Emerald Isle, North Carolina. Its roots are in parcel consulting. It helps parcel shippers analyze their shipping costs and negotiate contracts.

According to one individual who knows Echo’s company, Chicago-based Echo has been pushing hard into the managed logistics area because it sees enormous potential in the segment.

Echo did not respond to an emailed request for comment on Tuesday.

Echo was purchased for $1.3 billion by The Jordan Co., a private equity firm, in late 2021.
