Jones Logistics expands its footprint with the acquisition of Nationwide Express

Jones Logistics (JoLo) announced the acquisition of Nationwide Express on Thursday, February 2nd.

Tennessee-based Nationwide Express is a dedicated carrier that transports dry van freight and hazardous materials throughout the southern United States. In addition, the company offers warehousing, 3PL, and waste management services. According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, it has 102 registered power units.

The transaction’s financial terms were not disclosed.

“We are delighted to welcome the Nationwide Express team to the Jones Logistics family, and we look forward to bringing the benefits of our combined team, network, and capabilities to our customer base,” said JoLo CEO Brian Haynes.

Mississippi-based JoLo is a dedicated carrier that also offers transportation management and brokerage services. JoLo now has 700 employees and a fleet of over 500 trucks after acquiring Nationwide Express. The acquisition expands its service offering by adding warehousing and expanding its intermodal and managed transportation services.

Jones Capital, a middle-market investment firm, has JoLo as a portfolio company.
